Plus you can pick up the whole thing & put it in the console so it is out of sight when parked. This product was a great idea. Its heavy enough to sit on the dash without sliding around.
It is a definite improvement over the original suction cup mount. Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for Nüvi Series and StreetPilot C5XX Series GPS Navigators (C530, C550 and C580) I am so pleased with this product as it stays put on my dash while driving and I can remove it easily to prevent temptation to car thieves.
Overall - A+. The mobility of this mount is great. This is the best solution to eliminate the constantly falling windshield suction cup mount. It also eliminates the marks left by the suction cup to let thieves know you own a GPS.
SCHWEET. I definitely like how if I want to stash away my Nuvi, all I have to do is put the whole pod thing, connected and all, on the floor away from curious people's view. Steady as a surgeon's hand, this thing will not budge. unless you want it to.
Highly recommend. Works great and never moves or slides around on the dashboard. I wish I would have discovered this a year ago when I first bought my Garmin Nuvi. I love it.
