It stays put. Our one disappointment was with the mount included with our Garmin Nuvi. And it's much cheaper here on Amazon than I found it online elsewhere. I would highly recommend this product. We didn't care to leave it affixed to the windshield because of it's tell tale 'I have a GPS inside - steal me.' This little gadget solves all the problems. Just rest it on your dash - connect the cord into the cigarette lighter - and you're good to go.
Easy to take off the dash and stick out of sight when parked. Works as advertised. Bought one for my wife a week later - also for a NUVI 250. I use it with a NUVI 250. Will handle most any dashboard configuration. Seems to be really solid except for extremely "violent" vehicle movements.
This is the solution to how to have my Garmin within my view while driving, and not propped up on the seat next to me.
worth the investment after what you spend on those gps's you want it to be secure when in use and help keep it out of the wrong hands when it is not. item fits under most car seats for storage as it would be big and a little heavy to put into a purse while shopping. connections were simple and price was great and a tremendous savings vs what they are in most box stores. have enjoyed the portable mount. definitely would highly recommend. was leary of how stable this would be and thought it might slide with driving, ie taking corners, however it stays put. purchased primarily with the concept of preventing thieves from detecting "the ring" on the windshield that the traditional mounts leave. liked the fact that nothing had to be permanently affixed to the dash and it able to be used in more than one vehicle.
It can be easily moved to hide while not in use and your GPS easily removed to take with you. This mount allows ease of use without gluing or attaching anything to your auto. Excellent to use in a rental car or another vehicle. I purchased this with my Garmin nuvii 260w and found it works very well on my dashboard in my Honda Odyssey. It is very stable and you are able to adjust in most any position for easy viewing.
